![]() ![]() ![]() EPV now provides an option to allow Windows admins just-in-time privileged access to Windows targets on demand for a specific period of time. The new Ad Hoc access capability enables you to strengthen your local administrators’ security and can be used as an intermediate step towards full implementation of including the local administrators in the Vault. In this version, we introduce a new way to both control the administrative access and maintain a high level of security with least privileged concept on Windows servers by presenting Ad-Hoc access with Just-in-Time access to Windows servers. While managing the local administrator is important and achievable, managing the administrative access to these Windows servers and restricting access to prevent lateral movement can sometime be trickier. There are cases when managing the local administrator passwords is not possible at the initial stage of the deployment, either due to objection from the IT users or other reasons. CyberArk already enables you to secure the local administrator credentials as well as to use Privilege Session Manager for accessing those accounts. ![]() A major step in the Privilege Access Security program is to secure Windows local administrators to reduce the risk of lateral movement. ![]()
